Learning Through Music

• Children grasp language better when it's in the form of a rhyme or song.

• Music can boost fine motor skills (using small muscle groups to play a handheld percussion instrument) and gross motor skills (using large muscle groups to dance).

Sharing musical instruments and playing in a 'band' can help toddlers learn social skills.

• Rhythm and pitch are part of a child's development. Children would sometimes rather sing than listen and dance instead of standing still.

• Music can have an important influence on a child's brain development, particularly up to the age of six.

Hello and welcome to Little Groovers, an exciting new music group based in South Manchester, designed to develop a child’s natural rhythm and musicality - and more - with fun interactive songs and rhymes.

Little Groovers sessions are a fantastic way for children and their carers to enjoy making music together through upbeat nursery rhymes, singing and playing quality percussion instruments. Group-based music activities are beneficial to a child's development in many ways. And unlike many similar pre-school music classes, Little Groovers is run by a classically trained musician who has experience of teaching young children. Qualifications aside, hundreds of rainbow bubbles, cuddly teddy bears, amusing puppets and more keep babies and young children engaged and entertained. Grown-ups are encouraged to get involved as much - or as little - as they like, although you might discover that you can’t stop yourself from joining in with the fun!
